Culture History is a platform/ site focusing on the topic of culture history, or the study of human cultures in a diachronic and cultural context. As such, culture history is a pervasive topic that is difficult to delimit
On this platform a few topics have been selected for consideration. They include:
- Anthropological theory
- Traditional societies
- Indigenous people
- Totemism -linguistics
Some related topics are:
- Japanese festivals
- Round villages
- Peoples of the world
- Cultural surveys and mapping
The platform will develop over time as contributions are added. The plan is to include books and publications in a PDF format that can be freely perused by interested readers. The platform will be bilingual in English and Norwegian, mainly because some earlier writings are in Norwegian.
Kulturhistorie (culturehistory.no) er en plattform/ domene som omfatter et stort og komplisert fagområde. Derfor har noen få tema blitt utvalgt for presentasjon på denne nettsiden: antropologisk teori, japanske festivaler, urfolk, totemisme, språk, runde byer og ‘jordens folk’. Nettsiden vil utvikles ettersom nye bidrag blir lastet opp i PDF-format. Hoveddelen av innholdet vil være på engelsk, mens noen tidlige bidrag er på norsk. Dette vil være en gratis side for folk som vil lese om enkelte kulturhistoriske tema.
